300 Picture Book Challenge ...... the year is over.

Ermmm I'm not entirely sure what happened to November, for some reason I have not logged any books.  We did read I promise you but I have absolutely no idea What or How Many!!

So Lets pretend November didn't exist and fast forward to December.

December I introduced the Book Advent Calendar.  1 (or 2) books with a Christmas theme wrapped up and under the tree for the boys to find and read every day.

300 picture book challenge - October Update

October

We are still plowing through The Enchanted Wood trilogy, book 3 now.  

92 days left in 2014 and 49 books to read.  After a few rocky periods am beginning to think we CAN do this.... in fact we may even excel...

• The Folk of The Faraway Tree - 77-82 (book 3 in trilogy)  - complete :)
• Twas The Night Before Christmas
• Little Miss Neat
• Georges Marvellous Medicine (15 chapters)

23 chapters/ books in October so new total:  274/300

300 Picture Book Challenge

The aim of this challenge is to read 300 picture books with my boys in 2014.  Although Ben is now 5 and likes slightly longer books so some of them may be thrown in too.

We must have 300 easily in our collection so this will be a great way of seeing what they do and don't enjoy (personally I Loved Puddle Lane and Julia Donaldson..... but do they?)
I'm not counting unique books but any book, so you may see favourites appearing more than one.

September

We are still plowing through The Enchanted Wood trilogy, book 3 now.  With school starting again I must get back into the habit of school books and bedtime books again after we let ourselves down massively over the Summer.

122 days left in 2014 and 81 books to read.  We CAN do this.

I won't tell a lie, April seemed to go without a trace this month.  It was Noah's birthday, half term. Easter and we had a week away.

Yes we found time to read (in fact I distinctly remember reading Topsy and Tim go to London on at least 3 occasions as well as various books on the train journeys.  But shamefully I completely forgot/ was too busy to record anything!

I'll be honest, we did have a bad month, we didn't read every day but some days we read 2 or 3 books.  Out of fairness I can't justify recording 0 but neither do I want to claim 30+ books.

We missed the first 10 days of January (tho that doesn't mean we've not been reading books!), just forgotten what they are and not recorded.

We're a little late starting this challenge .

Last night we read Ben's special book he got for Christmas... Spiderman.  But not just any old Spiderman this one was special.  It featured him and his friends.  He loved it!

We got in from taking Ben to school today and the postman called. he bought with him Walking Through The Jungle - our prize from Mummy's Little Stars Barefoot Book competition.   Noah was engrossed in it ... (review to follow, keep an eye out).

Whilst writing my 'flashback friday' I shared the Poddington Peas story with the boys.
