Halloween

This year saw the return of Out Of This World to Sheffield city centre, the boys love to have their faces painted so I got the face paints and asked what they wanted.

Noah went with someone very close to his heart, someone that suits his personality down to a T .... Sadness!!

Ben wanted Iron Man, I've done this a few times now so getting a little better at it - but I always need to copy an online example to get it right.

Lush: October haul

This week Lush launched their Halloween and Christmas goodies, there were soo many lovely new releases, including the return of some from last year, that I could justify buying them all.

Here's what I picked........

Summer Holiday: Stockeld Park, Wetherby

I stumbled upon this place a few months ago when we were looking for something to do.  Me and the kids think Mr Bloom is great and as he was appearing I tried to persuade him to make the 3h journey (each way) on public transport to go.... he wasn't amused and put his foot down.   So when mum asked me for places I wanted to go when we were camping at Sheriff Hutton I immediately thought of here, in a car it's only an hour from mine.

If you haven't been and you have small children it's definitely one to put on your to-do list, the boys (and us) had the most amazing time.

The park is split into 8 zones (9 if you count the cafe) and we explored most of them, this isn't a trip that takes a couple of hours, we were here from 12-5 and could easily have stayed another hour if we'd had the time.

12 weeks to go .... Halloween Party Ideas

The next few months are really busy for us.....
I still have a few days camping with the boys planned with my mum in August
Back to school and the start of a new job for me in September
Both Ben and hubby's birthday's in October
Bonfire night in November
then Christmas in December.........

Before we know it we'll be singing Auld Lang Syne and hoping next year doesn't go so quickly.

Trick or Treat (part 2)

This year sees the first ever Swizzels Trick Or Treat Trail at all three Gulliver’s theme parks in Warrington, Matlock Bath and Milton Keynes throughout October half term through to Halloween weekend and we've been invited to go along and experience the spooky magic.  So the boys faces painted (Noah wanted to be a yellow angry bird and Ben was apparently "Batman Fake" we set off to Matlock Bath to experience the Swizzels Trick or Treat Trail.I refrained from doing my own make up given that it was a 2-hour journey on Public Transport!

  

Trick or Treat?

I was young .... once

We love Halloween, we don't go trick or treating ourselves (I was never allowed as a child) but that
doesn't stop me and the boys dressing up, eating junk food and having a fab time and this year it'll taste even better as Swizzels have teamed up with Gulliver Theme's parks.

Halloween, Christmas and Birthday all catered for on today's Poundland shop

I only went out for sugar and bread .... but ended up spending £13 in Poundland today.....

I did it, 4 months, and a lot of artistic license (ok mistakes) it's done, and thankfully Ben who claimed it as his own last year loves it.  Read about my Halloween Progress History here.

Ursula Michael's "Lets Trick or Treat" - Progress Update 19th January 2014

Progress is slow on this piece as I am rather addicted to Lego Marvel on the PS3 and spend most of my spare time playing that when I'm not blogging.   I am, however, trying to dedicate 1 night a week to stitching.

I am itching to get this piece finished tho as I want to crack on with the boys DC superhero afghan that I started ages ago ... tho I really ought to see if I can find an Iron Man, Spiderman and Hulk to put on it as they are the favourites in this house at the moment.

Have A Spooky Poundland Halloween

Poundland are running another "Pin It To Win It" promotion ....... this time it's a Halloween Theme.  With the winner getting £100 of vouchers ...... that's a LOT of candles, activity items and food!!!
