The Jetsons originally aired way before I was born in 1962/3 before repeating with additional new episodes from 1984-87. It has been repeated recently on Boomerang.
Unlike Hanna-Barbera's The Flintstones The Jetsons live in 2062. They have robotic contraptions, aliens, holograms, and inventions. They lived in Orbit City where all the houses and business are raised above the ground on adjustable columns.
George Jetson (the dad) lives with his family; wife Judy, daughter Judy and son Elroy in the Skypad Apartments. All the housekeeping tasks are completed by a robot maid, Rosie, who also completes chores that other electronics cannot. The family has a dog named Astro.
Characters:
George Jetson (40 years old).
George works for Cosmo Spacely at Spacely Space Sprockets which he commutes to in an aerocar (a bit like a flying saucer).
Jane Jetson (33 years old)
Jane is a stay at home mum (even tho both her children go to school and Rosie does all the housework). She is very fashion concious and loves new gadgets.
Judy Jetson (15 years old)
Judy attends Orbit High School and is a typical teenager who likes clothes, hanging out with her friends and telling her digital diary secrets.
Elroy Jetson (6½ years old)
Is the Jetsons son and attends Little Dipper School. He is very intelligent especially when it comes to
space sciences.
Rosey
Rosey is the Jetson's robot, although she's not the most up to date model the family love her. She takes care of the housework as well as occasional parenting.
Astro
Astro is the family dog. He is George and Elroys best friend and speaks in a rough sounding English resembling dog barks and growls (sounds similar to Scooby Doo? Thats because it's the same actor).
Orbitty
Is an alien with spring-like legs. He expresses his emotions by changing colour.
